The Pharmaceutical Medical Unit (PMU) of the Swiss Centre for International Health at the Swiss Tropical Institute is using DMSys in its mandate to provide services in the design, organization, conduct, monitoring and auditing of clinical trials according to international guidelines. Their field of specialisation is tropical medicine with projects executed in the northern and southern hemispheres. The PMU is involved in a number of clinical trials in the fields of sleeping sickness (trypanosomiasis) and malaria. The PMU has also provided consulting on the design, conduct and good clinical practice (GCP) compliance of clinical studies in African countries to the World Health Organization (WHO) and Médecins sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).
